Terms of service

These terms cover GRIM Reaper (the REAPER extension), GRIM Cloud, and the grim.fm website. GRIM Reaper is made by Bonneville Solutions, LLC ("we", "us"). By installing GRIM Reaper, starting a trial, or buying a license or subscription, you agree to these terms.

1. The trial

You can use every feature free for 14 days on one Mac, with your own Anthropic API key. The trial also includes a small number of GRIM Cloud requests. One trial per Mac. After it ends, GRIM stops sending requests to Claude until you buy a License or subscribe to GRIM Cloud.

2. Licenses

A License is a one-time purchase. It gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use GRIM Reaper on up to 3 Macs that you own or control, with your own Anthropic API key. It includes all updates to version 1 of GRIM Reaper. You can move a license to a different Mac by deactivating it in Settings.

GRIM Reaper checks your license online when you activate it, and about once a month after that. If it can't reach our server, it keeps working for at least 14 days.

You may not share, resell or publish license keys, or modify GRIM Reaper to get around the license check.

3. GRIM Cloud

GRIM Cloud is a subscription that lets GRIM Reaper use Claude without your own API key. It includes everything a License does, for as long as you're subscribed.

• Allowance. Each billing period includes a usage allowance, shown in the panel. When it runs out, Cloud requests pause until the next period or until you buy a top-up. Unused allowance doesn't carry over. Top-ups last until used, or until your subscription ends.
• Billing. Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from the customer portal linked in Settings or in your receipt. Access continues until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Price changes. We'll email you at least 30 days before a price change takes effect on your subscription.
• Fair use. GRIM Cloud is for your own music work inside GRIM Reaper. Don't use it to reach Claude for other purposes, automate it at scale, or resell access.

4. Your API key and Anthropic

When you use your own key, GRIM Reaper sends requests directly from your Mac to Anthropic. Your use of Claude is also subject to Anthropic's terms and its Usage Policy, and you pay Anthropic for that usage. We're not responsible for Anthropic's charges, availability or changes to its service. With GRIM Cloud, your requests must also follow Anthropic's Usage Policy.

5. Your music

Your projects, recordings and everything GRIM Reaper creates for you are yours. We claim no rights in them. GRIM Reaper edits your REAPER project when you ask it to, and every change is one undo step. Still, keep backups of work you care about.

Claude can make mistakes, and it may produce output that resembles existing music. You're responsible for how you use what it produces, including checking that you have the rights you need to release it.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use GRIM Reaper or GRIM Cloud to break the law, infringe others' rights, or attack, overload or reverse-engineer our servers. We may suspend Cloud access or revoke a license that's used this way. Where we can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

7. Refunds

Refunds follow our refund policy and are processed by Paddle.

8. Changes and availability

We update GRIM Reaper and may change or remove features. If we ever stop offering GRIM Cloud, we'll give subscribers at least 30 days' notice and refund any unused prepaid period. Your License keeps working with your own API key.

9. No warranty

GRIM Reaper and GRIM Cloud are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise they'll be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the output will suit your purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, projects or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by contract.

11. Trademarks

GRIM Reaper is an independent extension, not made by or affiliated with Cockos Incorporated. REAPER is a trademark of Cockos Incorporated. Claude is made by Anthropic.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell license holders and subscribers by email before the change takes effect.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protections of the law where you live.
